FLOWER MANDALA CREATING with CHILDREN

Every time I make a Flower Mandala the Children are always drawn to what is happening and join in.
I believe this kind of co-creation with the natural world comes naturally to the children and something deep with in their souls is nourished.

Here are some photos from Projects over the years!

MAKING MANDALAS from Objects found in Nature Supports an appreciation of Beauty while being entirely involved in the creative process!

"Never underestimate the importance of supporting a child's greatest joy. Given that every moment is a learning journey for them, the more we can support their joy, comfort and creativity, the more they experience success and celebration in their learning processes, they will carry this joy with them into the rest of their lives."

Meditation and Affirmations for Children

"The Beautiful Earth is us. Breathing together in the same rhythm we restore our calm, our peace. Let us accept ourselves so we may accept one another. Let us share the vision and make it possible for Great Love to arise". -Thich Nhat Hanh

The Belly Breath

A deep-belly breathing exercise is an easy technique your child can learn to reduce anxiety and stress.

Help your child learn belly breathing and remind that good full belly breaths are always available to them.
Breathe deeply right along with your child and be a living examples.
You'll both feel better.

How to Do Belly Breathing

Try belly breathing with your child the  next time they feel sad or mad.
Deep breaths like this can help.
1) Lie on your back. Close your eyes. Put your hands on your belly.
2) Keep your mouth closed. Breathe slowly through your nose. Count to 9 in your head while you breathe in.
3) Hold that air in your body while you count to 2 in your head.
4) Slowly let the air out through your mouth or nose.
Try it now. Breathe in through your nose. Hold the air in your body. Slowly let the air out.
What did you feel your belly do? Your belly should go up and down when you take deep breaths. That is why it is called belly breathing!
Taking deep breaths can help make stress go away. Taking deep breaths may help you feel happy. Taking deep breaths is good for your body, too.

Afterwards you can repeat the Affirmations

“I Am Brave, I Am Bold, My Own Spirit I Can Hold.”

"I am Bountiful, I am beautiful, I am Bliss"

Children's affirmation songs to support a positive attitude!

Here are a few songs from the artist Snatam Kaur,
that you and your child might enjoy listening to!

These are from the Kundalini Yoga Tradition and encourage well being,
a positive attitude and a childs personal sense of
 HAPPY - HEALTHY - WHOLE!

Giving these tools to your child can set up a strong foundation of self esteem an self awareness that will support them for the rest of their lives.

Nature Art Lessons For Children

Nature Art and Outdoor Crafting

with Shelley Sage Heart

Supporting Conscious Evolution with Heart Centered Childcare,
I have been working with children and supporting moms and families for 20 + years.

I am continually inspired to nurture the heart and soul of each family I work with and have a deep respect for each individual child's creative nature and intellectual development.

Spending time outside is important I like to encourage and initiate projects and playtime that is inspired from the natural world.

Some examples of art projects are:
  • Making flower mandala's
  • crafting fairy dolls from plants and herbs and flowers
  • garden creation and tending
  • fort building
  • making paint from natural materials
  • basket weaving
  • rock painting
  • making head wreaths and flower Lei's
  • making instruments and other imaginative things from the natural supplies found in nature

I find that all kinds of important life skills are learned when we see nature as a fun resource for creating and learning from. This is one of my passions and I love sharing the teachings of RESPECT and CO-CREATION with NATURE to children, offering them a foundation of personal resource and nature connection that will last a life time.

Time spent outdoors, can be highly creative and inspirational, making outside play a natural environment for creativity and artistic exploration, expression and co-creation.

Welcome to my  Blog/info Website for the Childcare Services I offer here in Ashland. My name is Shelley Sage Heart, I am an artist, graphic designer, visionary, and melissa at the Goddess Temple of Ashland.

and I am now offering  HEART CENTER CHILDCARE to the Ashland Community.

I have been really looking deeply lately at how I can more fully serve the women of this community and find a nourishing way to support myself and give back to the community and the children in a meaningful way. I have worked with mothers and children my whole life and have always found the exchange of support to be mutually beneficial and rewarding.

I am a great believer that healthy families are our key to a healthy society, and that the children are our most sacred link to a bright future for life on the planet. Every choice we make in the up bringing of your children has an impact on who they will become as they grow up and move forth into the world to share their gifts and do the work they have come here to do.

Working with children and supporting moms and families for 20 + years, I am continually inspired to nurture the heart and soul of each family I work with. I have a deep respect for each individual child's creative nature and intellectual development.

I look forward to connecting and networking with the Mama's in this Valley and offering my Support!
